However, there is an inherent knowledge gap that exists between the skills you leave the military with and the expertise tech employers expect. All of our candidates are required to complete the Launchpad Academy which is a comprehensive training program designed to teach the hard skills that every account executive needs to blow past their quotas.

 

ANNOUNCEMENT OF NEW VIRTUAL ACCOUNT EXECUTIVE (VAE) TRACK

Starting in July of 2017 (Cohort 7) Tech Qualled, will begin offering two tracks: the Account Executive (AE) Track and the Virtual Account Executive (VAE) Track. All of this is provided at no cost to the candidate.

 

VAE

The VAE Track prepares our candidates for careers in virtual sales roles in the B2B tech industry. Being on a virtual sales team carries a lot of benefits including greater predictability, a more collegial environment and no travel. For transitioning veterans that want to be in a competitive account executive role with closer leadership support but are looking for a bit more stability in their life, the VAE Track is a great option.

AE

The AE Track prepares our candidates to go into outside tech sales. As an account executive, you can expect to operate more autonomously, potentially travel to visit customers and take ownership over a defined territory. For those that seek a more self-directed role and who thrive in pressure packed environments, the AE Track is for you.

Account Executive (AE) Track

(7-WEEKS)

Launchpad offers Account Executive (AE) candidates a comprehensive 7-week training program for those interested in outside account executive roles. Every candidate participates in 5 weeks of virtual, self-paced industry and product training followed by 1 week of sales and business processes training. Upon completion of the virtual portion of the course, candidates will attend a 1 week face-to-face sales "boot camp" held at our training facility and led by Fortune 100 executives. The following is a brief overview of skills veterans can expect to learn:

INDUSTRY AND PRODUCT TRAINING

  • Basic Networking including Routing and Switching
  • Collaboration Solutions including VOIP, Web Collaboration and Video Conferencing
  • Data Center Solutions including servers, storage and data center specific networking and security hardware and software
  • Network Security including firewalls, intrusion detection and remediation solutions
  • Internet of Things including the solutions required to connect tens of billions of new devices to the internet
  • Cloud Computing including private, public and hybrid solutions
  • Sales practicum exercises

  • Sales Process
  • Running successful customer meetings
  • Listening skills
  • Presentation skills
  • Developing sales plans
  • Needs discovery
  • Objection handling
  • Instructor led training
